Continuation of a series that I started around 2002. Currently the oldest photograph in the set is from 2004. I occasionally photograph other dead animals but I focus on birds – they are the most common and visible deaths surrounding us. Other deaths, such as humans or pets, are quickly taken care and disposed of but the presence of dead birds (the animals most assimilated with urban life) is accompanying us on a daily basis. By aestheticizing them to some extend by means of composition I intend to ‘make the audience look’ at something they otherwise wouldn’t and perhaps provoke a moment of reflection.
