Do-it-on-Deck!

doitondeck-poster1sml doitondeck-poster2sml doitondeck-poster3sml _amo3095-1

Zdecydowanie najdziwniejsze warsztaty jakie zdarzyło mi się prowadzić. Odbyły się na małej, ręcznie wykonanej kabinowej łódeczce między 12–16 lipca w ramach projektu „Do it on Deck!”. Wraz z dwoma Litwinami, Aurimasem i Juliusem, wykonaliśmy ręcznie trzy plakaty z mistycznymi odezwami do dzikich zwierząt, równocześnie spływając „Buratinasem” z Łomży do Warszawy. Użyte techniki to typografia (metalowe czcionki!), linoryt i szablon. Po rozklejeniu plakatów na drzewach w nadrzecznym lasku „Buratinas” podążył dalej w kierunku Belgii.

Definitely the weirdest workshops I have conducted so far. They took place on ”Buratinas” – a small, hand made cabin boat – between the 12–16th of July, as part of the ”Do it on Deck!” project. Together with two Lithuanians, Aurimas and Julius, we produced entirely by hand three different posters with obscure messages directed to wild animals, while at the same time floating down the Narew river from Łomża to Warsaw. We used letterpress (!), linocuts and stencils. After pasting the posters on the trees in a small forest by the river the ”Buratinas” continued its journey to Belgium.

Title: TypoTrip - Typography on the Road ( typotrip.wordpress.com )
Media: digital photography, blog
Client: self-published

Self-made lettering, improvised signs, coincidental designs and random messages; sweet shapes and big words lost in the void of time; also eroded forms, outdated design trends and letters that have seen a better day. Or simply a collection of strange, worn-down, outdated, intriguing, self-made, out-of-place and interesting letters, words and messages from all over the world. A blog dedicated to typography on the road.

Hana Records

hanaCompleted: July 2007, Helsinki
Title: Hana Records
Media: visual identity
Client: Lighthouse Music Ltd.

Logo design for a young record label located in Helsinki. I also managed to convince the founders to use a Finnish word instead of an English one. According to Ilmainen Sanakirja ’hana’ means ”cock, crane, faucet, hammer, spigot, stopcock, tap.” I was also involved in the concepting and design of the cover for the first record released under this label which was designed by illustrator and graphic designer Natalia Kulka.
