Completed: July 2008 Title: Arkadia promo bags Media: serigraphy on textile bags Client: ARKADIA Oy International Bookshop Comments: Assignment that followed the webdesign for the international bookshop. Image of a vintage bicycle with books on the carrier applied by silkscreen on textile bags. Both the client and I don't like nor use cars but prefer two wheels instead so the image of a bike seemed perfect for the job.

Completed: June 2008 Title: arkadiabookshop.fi Media: webdesign Client: ARKADIA Oy International Bookshop Comments: Website designed for a small, recently opened bookshop in Helsinki's old neighbourhood Töölö. The shelf-like structure is elegant but flexible and allows for unlimited expansion and easy modification in the future.

Started: 2004 (ongoing) Title: Birds Media: digital photography Client: self-published Comments: Continuation of a series that I started around 2002. Currently the oldest photograph in the set is from 2004. I occasionally photograph other dead animals but I focus on birds – they are the most common and visible deaths surrounding us. Other deaths, such as humans or pets, are quickly taken care and disposed of but the presence of dead birds (the animals most assimilated with urban life) is accompanying us on a daily basis. By aestheticizing them to some extend by means of composition I intend to 'make the audience look' at something they otherwise wouldn't and perhaps provoke a moment of reflection.

Completed: March 2008 Title: Pixelache University Media: offset print, silkscreen Client: PixelACHE Festival of Electronic Art and Subcultures Comments: Concept and graphic design for the 2008 edition of Pixelache festival.
Completed: November 2007 Title: Tuntematon Sotilas Media: offset print Client: The Finnish National Theatre Comments: Brochure accompanying the theatre play Unknown Soldier based on the historical book by Vaino Linna. On the cover there is a list of actors' names presented in a way associated with military organisation. Above the list is a symbolic instruction of how to tear open holes in the brochure in order to be able to "hide" from the "war" taking place on the stage. Concept of the brochure developed together with director Kristian Smeds, Ville Hyvönen and Aina Bergroth.

Started: July 2007 (ongoing) Title: TypoTrip - Typography on the Road ( typotrip.wordpress.com ) Media: digital photography, blog Client: self-published Comments: Self-made lettering, improvised signs, coincidental designs and random messages; sweet shapes and big words lost in the void of time; also eroded forms, outdated design trends and letters that have seen a better day. Or simply a collection of strange, worn-down, outdated, intriguing, self-made, out-of-place and interesting letters, words and messages from all over the world. A blog dedicated to typography on the road.

Completed: May 2007 - Helsinki, Finland Title: Lost & Found ( flickr.com/photos/wojtekmejor ) Media: digital photography Client: self-published Comments: This is a series of photographs that I was working on throughout the winter of 06/07 in Helsinki. I noticed people loose hundreds of gloves on the streets here, and the interesting thing is that often other people, upon finding, pick them up from the floor and place them somewhere visible. In many cases this makes the gloves look very dramatic or comic.

Completed: 4th September 2006 - Madrid, Spain Title: Chechu Zeta Media: digital photography, print Client: Chechu Granado Zambrano Comments: The idea in this actor´s dossier is to have on each page a posed and stylised photo combined with one or two natural ones. This way I was hoping to create a more true image of Chechu´s personality and help him to present himself in a proffessional context. |
Completed: May 2006 - Madrid, Spain Title: MNSTNCL Media: typeface Client: self-published Comments: Clipping, monospaced, stencil face for outdoor / indoor use. Simple, systematic design in which all letters are built on a square. Closed shapes are avoided to allow easy stencil use.
